Season 6 Week 9
Folks, this may be our biggest weekend yet…
But before we get into it, we first want to take this opportunity to thank all of our neighbors who came out last Tuesday night to the Queens CB1 hearing in support of a safer 31st Street. We had about 20 people there in support—and much more writing over email—through what was an undoubtedly long night. And we’re feelin’ good! (We’re glad to see our elected officials think so, too.)
If you haven’t already, please share our petition, which has now netted over 3.4k signatures, and/or share your support for the 31st Street Bike Lane Project via email with Queens CB1. And again: thanks for joining us.
Okay, shifting focus a bit…
Open Street Updates
The big news this weekend is that we’re throwing a block party this Saturday! The second phase of the 31st Ave ‘bike boulevard’ redesign is officially complete—and we’re celebrating! So come on out and join us for the party. See below and on IG for more details:

Support the Open Street
It takes a lot to run the 31st Ave Open Street, such as renting storage space, paying for insurance, or buying supplies like extra chairs, sidewalk chalk, and trash bags to keep our street clean. We list a few of the materials that we are in frequent need of on our donation page. As a 501(c)3 nonprofit, we also take tax-deductible donations via our Givebutter campaign for those who would like to contribute financially.
We also just launched a campaign to fundraise for this summer’s Community Cookout series.
Every bit helps and we appreciate your support in making 31st Ave a better place for all! Thank you!
